Delete your Bunky account
You can delete your Bunky account and associated personal data at any time. This page explains how, and what happens to your data.
Option 1 — In the app (recommended)
- Open Bunky and sign in.
- Go to Settings.
- Choose Delete account and confirm.
Your account is scheduled for deletion with a 30-day cancellable grace period — if you sign back in during that time you can cancel the deletion.
Option 2 — By request
If you cannot access the app, email us from the address associated with your account at privacy@bunky.ch with the subject "Delete my account". We will verify your request and process it.
What gets deleted
- Your authentication account and your user profile record (name, email, avatar, phone, preferences).
- Your subscription is cancelled.
What is retained (and why)
Information about a child that you shared with the other parent (health, school, contacts, custody schedule, expenses, notes, history) is retained for the other parent and the child, because deleting it would remove data the other parent relies on and that may be needed for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims (e.g. custody). In that case your name is anonymised (shown as "Removed parent") rather than the shared content being deleted. This is explained in our Privacy Policy (§7).
Before your account is deleted you have a 30-day window to export your data from the app.
Timeline
- Day 0: deletion requested; grace period starts; you keep read-only/export access.
- Within 30 days: you can cancel by signing back in.
- After 30 days: your authentication account and user record are permanently deleted; your name is anonymised on shared records.
